The Origins of Tamara Revealed?

She’s been the faceless girl of the franchise for nearly 20 years. A name merely mentioned by The Strangers before they target their next victims. But has a seemingly normal archived news clipping finally revealed the origins behind “Tamara”? My instincts say yes.

The Visit Venus Oregon website has played an amazing part in the promotion for The Strangers: Chapter 2, giving fans a chance to take a step further into the world of Venus, Oregon, and immerse themselves within it. Along with the site comes various archives of the towns dark past, and the latest post seems to have revealed the origins of the longest asked question in the franchise: “Who is Tamara?”.

On Wednesday March 9th, 2025, a somber mood settled over Venus’ church-run school following a fatal incident on the playground during recess. The details were limited but according to the news clipping, a young girl was found dead by the small wooden playhouse at the edge of the yard. The cause of death unknown, but it was allegedly an “isolated incident” as seems to be the norm whenever something strange happens in this town.

Although unconfirmed, some of the witnesses alleged that a “glyph or symbol” was left behind on the concrete at the scene, however it had seemingly washed away before anyone could verify it. Could that glyph or symbol have been a smiley face? Did Tamara find herself the unlucky first victim of the Strangers? And if so, is that why they’re always referencing her before they attack?

With rumours swirling about what motivates the Strangers, and the constant mention of the town faith and staying true to their town charter and not letting things change… could Tamara have been in the wrong place at the wrong time? A new girl in town who the Strangers didn’t think would fit in? Or is something deeper at play?

It seems all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. The latest character posters for Chapter 2 showed The Strangers standing in the schoolyard, with their future selves reflected in the puddles in the ground. Puddles caused by rain… rain which washed away the alleged smiley face on the ground. It looks like we’re being given the backstory before the movie even hits the big screen. If this is what we have now, what’s waiting for us on the 26th?

One thing’s for sure… The Strangers: Chapter 2 has a lot in store for us. Keep an eye on things, Strangers fans. The Road to Chapter 2 is on its final leg and I sense there’s a lot more coming our way very soon.

While you’re at it, keep a close eye on Visit Venus Oregon, I think there’s someone there who isn’t buying what’s going on in town. He might need your help.
