[EXCLUSIVE] More information about "The Strangers" new trilogy revealed [UPDATED]

A few new details about the new “The Strangers” trilogy has been revealed. An email came into our inbox last night with a clipping of what looks to be a casting call for the new films. It has revealed that one of the production companies behind the new trilogy is Vertigo Entertainment, owned by producer Roy Lee.

This information checks out, as a few years ago, Vertigo Entertainment signed a deal with Lionsgate, where Lionsgate would be the primary distributor for all content to come out of Vertigo. Vertigo Entertainment is also owned by Roy Lee, the producer of the original two “The Strangers” films, and producer of the new trilogy. So it’s only fitting that there’s still the connection between this new trilogy and the original films. There’s not a whole lot more regarding the production aside from the fact that it looks like casting began back in July 2022 and production has been going on since August 2022. I’ve blocked out sensitive information including the name of the Casting Director, and contact information for Vertigo Entertainment, as I know these casting ads can sometimes be exclusive and I wouldn’t want an unsolicited contact being made to the company.

I think the biggest news we’ve gotten from this is the names of our two main characters played by Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez. Petsch will be playing a woman named Maya, whilst Gutierrez will be playing a character named Ryan. It looks as though Gutierrez won’t last very long and the films will follow Petsch’s attempts to escape “The Strangers”.

The last piece of information is that these films are “new sequels” in the existing franchise. Other sources have billed these films as a remake, so should they truly be sequels to the first two films, it means there’s a possibility for flashbacks and for cast from previous films to appear. Who wouldn’t want to see Petsch team up with Liv Tyler and Bailee Madison against The Strangers?

I got another update from a fan who sent in what appears to be a similar casting call to the one sent previously. It’s got some updated details on the production companies involved, as well as an updated plot line:

The new Strangers film will follow Maya (Petsch) as she drives cross-country with her longtime boyfriend Ryan (Gutierrez) to begin a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they’re forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers.

Again, as I did previously, I’ve blocked out sensitive information to avoid unsolicited contact being made to the companies.
