"The Strangers Trilogy" enters its final week of filming

Madelaine Petsch has updated fans of The Strangers, letting them know through an Instagram story that The Strangers 3 has entered its final week of filming. Filming is currently underway in Bratislava, Slovakia with Renny Harlin at the helm. Froy Gutierrez, Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath also star in unknown roles.

The update was given in the form of an Instagram story from Petsch’s Instagram account, however no other cast, nor Renny Harlin, have shared any updates regarding the movie. Given that filming started in September, it’s safe to assume that the trilogy will not be filming back-to-back. As for when we can expect new on The Strangers 4 and The Strangers 5, I have no idea. But I’d say some news would come sometime after filming for the third instalment has been complete.

The newest film is set to follow Maya (played by Petsch) who travels cross-country with her boyfriend Ryan (played by Gutierrez) to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they’re forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers. No other plot details have been released, and we are yet to see any Behind the Scenes of the actors playing The Strangers.

Lionsgate Entertainment is distributing the film, produced by Vertigo Entertainment, written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton and Christopher Milburn are executive producing, with Roy Lee, Johanna Harlin, Gary Raskin and more producing. A release date is not yet known, nor is whether the entire trilogy will be filmed back-to-back-to-back.
