The final trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 3, and The Strangers Trilogy, is here. Giving us a glimpse at what we can expect in Maya’s (Madelaine Petsch) final chapter.

When I first watched the trailer, I was in awe. I haven’t felt this way about the previous two trailers, but there’s something about this one that screams big finale. I felt like I was watching a trailer for a new Avengers movie, and that’s the reaction I saw both on social media and in my Discord server. I honestly feel like this will be the best Strangers movie in the entirety of the trilogy and I’m so excited.

But it also makes me realise, this journey we started on back in October of 2022 when the trilogy was announced, in a month it will end. No more Strangers movies (for now), all will be quiet on the Strangers front. It almost makes me glad that Chapter 2 was delayed for so long, because if they had stuck to their condensed schedule this would’ve been over long ago.

What does the future hold for the franchise? I don’t know. Chapter 1 had a really good box office return but poor reviews. Chapter 2 just made enough to justify its cost but had worse reviews than Chapter 1. And based on some comments on social media, people are already brushing off Chapter 3 without giving it a chance. But, I have high hopes. I’ve seen a lot more positive reaction to this trailer than I have for the previous two, so if this does well, maybe Lionsgate will consider more films down the line.

Renny Harlin has already stated that this trilogy was just the beginning of a new “Strangers Universe”, and if it is set to have an open ended conclusion like has been previously said, perhaps there’s still a future for this franchise. A Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6. There’s also talks of cutting all three movies together and releasing it as the one large movie it was conceived and filmed as. I would sit through a 4.5 hour cut of the Strangers. Especially if they wanted to include some of the things that they cut during the reshoots (Ghostskull and Witchface).
