Watch the trailer for "The Strangers: Chapter 2"

After months and months of ominous teasing, eager fans of The Strangers were finally treated to a full length trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 2. A trailer that teases that Maya’s survival was just the beginning of her time with the Strangers.

The road to Chapter 2 has been a long, and unexpected, one. Whilst initially being led to believe that the film would release mere months after Chapter 1, all went quiet on The Strangers front and the expected release period came and went. Finally, in October of last year, a teaser was released for the film with no hint of a release other than “Coming Soon”, and once again things went quiet.

More time passed, and more angry messages came into my DMs, and finally in March of this year, it was announced that Chapter 2 would be taking the release date of Saw XI following its cancellation. No teaser, no poster, things went quiet again until yesterday. Lionsgate teased us once more by releasing an entire website full of the lore of Venus, Oregon. A site which is a great move on their part. And not only that, a video clip was included stating “Trailer Tomorrow”. And now tomorrow is today, and the trailer is here.

With the official trailer now out in the wild, fans have been treated to a glimpse of what Chapter 2 will deliver—more intense scares, a darker narrative, and that signature unsettling atmosphere that has come to define The Strangers franchise. Maya is set to be entangled in the world of the Strangers, trapped in the town of Venus with the three masked killers constantly on her tail. She’s going to learn the hard way that surviving her attack was only the beginning.
